Last Seattle Homecoming
January 16, 2012. 9:46pm.
Traipsing through the SeaTac Airport, my head was clouded with inclement weather warnings and tenative transportation arrangements. It was just shy of 10pm, the very tip of the tail end of a 12+ hour travel day. My bones were weary, my eyes were bloodshot, and my feet were two blocks of concrete.
Finding a seat on the fringes of baggage claim, I melted into a...
[ZIPCODING]: JEFFREY O'NEILL, 98107
So, with 2012, I’ve decided to start a new lifestyle portrait series. I’ve moved and traveled quite a bit in my 26 years, and met so many eclectic characters in cities spanning across the great United States. I hold many friends dear, in many different zip codes. I’ve decided that now was as good a time as ever to capitalize on this; this project is my way of introducing you...
wearewideeyes asked: You have a great way capturing people within surroundings. Fantastic work!

My favorite shot from today’s brief lifestyle session with John in SoHo. # swoon
Bright Moon.
It was midnight.
Tiptoeing past my parents’ bedroom, I paused, hoping to hear the sounds of their heavy slumber, hoping the rustling of my coat would not wake them.
I needed a smoke.
I let myself out. All that awaited me was a frosty field, quiet, and landscape cloaked in moonlight. The cloud of my steady breath was my only companion. Finding a seat on the bed of my father’s...

Beyond excited to be working with this installation artist for an April wedding. This is a video chronicling the completion of an incredible fort that he built in five days as a way of tangibly reconnecting people with their childhood memories. Good to know that there are still great artists at work in the world.

Torn scraps
covered
in scribbles
are becoming
the book of us.
History.
Non-fiction.
A working novella.
Our character
flaws
m a t e r i a l i z e
in ink
at my steady
hand.
Each phrase
packed
with a
m a g n i t u d e
of meaning.
Making immortal
moments
longings
and unresolve.
The plot
is thick
with
tenderness
and
heartbreak.
...
Mother.
I just want
to cry into
her shirt
like I used to.
Freshly laundered
and warm.
I just want
her to softly caress
my tangled hair
and whisper
in my ear,
“You’re going
to be okay.”
Over
and
over
and
over.
Until it
f i n a l l y
becomes
t r u e.

Heirloom.
“Just tell it
to keep
beating.”
The words of wisdom
that my mother
has given
to me
are rare.
But
these pearls
are part of
my inheritance
from her.
They hang
on a thin strand
next to my heart,
weary as it is.
But
with each
s l o w
labored pump
it still
beats
and beats
and beats.
As it should.
As it must.

Yesterday, my friend Ellie Lonardo and I drove down to Portland to see Pickwick play with Campfire OK at the Doug Fir. We decided to stay the night at the Jupiter Hotel and spend today seeing what Seattle’s sister city had to offer! Here’s a little preview of the portraits I was able to shoot of Ellie at the Ace Hotel and the Jupiter. More forthcoming!
Summer Home.
Had coffee today with Jordan Kay to discuss the final touches on the logo for A Darling Felicity, and afterwards she gave me a sneak peek of the sweet camper she and her boyfriend Ben are taking on a few road trips this summer!
